Sky Gilbert, a Canadian novelist, playwright, poet, actor, director and drag queen extraordinaire - I had the pleasure of meeting several years ago, sent me a copy of his newest novel: I am Kasper Klotz ...which is just hot off the presses. I planned to read the novel over the weekend , but I was so excited about it that I started to read it right away. I am Kasper Klotz is the kind of novel that you just can't put down and I finished reading it last night (Thankfully the print was large enough to read comfortably) I am Kasper Klotz is a joyous and amazingly revealing read, which exposes all of the psycho-social issues that every gay men has to deal with and challenges conventional AIDS "wisdom" with wit and grace. I loved it! I highly recommend that you read Sky's novel as soon as possible. I am also requesting that you take a few moments and ask your local bookstore and/or library to carry this very important and insightful look at the AIDS crisis.
