About the HEAL Toronto Collective
HEAL - Health, Education, AIDS Liaison - is a nonprofit organization of volunteers working with the ever-growing, international network of scientists, journalists and researchers who question the many common beliefs surrounding HIV & AIDS. Part of our Mandate is to help people better inform themselves about compelling evidence that challenges the theory that HIV is the cause of AIDS.
We provide support for people who have been labeled "HIV positive" in a number of ways: By encouraging them to consider the possibility that their diagnosis is not a death sentence, by encouraging them to remember that science is forever evolving and that many popularly accepted theories are later proven wrong, and by offering support groups where anyone affected by these issues can discuss and exchange ideas and experiences in an environment free of judgment or expectation.
We try to raise awareness of the strong evidence that "anti-viral" drugs, designed to eradicate HIV, are not as safe or effective as is widely claimed, and while we support those who choose to use these treatments to address and treat their health challenges, we encourage awareness of holistic, non toxic alternatives.
The information you will find on our web site questions the fundamental assumptions of the HIV=AIDS Hypothesis. You will not find specific recommendations for treatments for HIV/AIDS on this web site, although you will find many links to sites that do. Here you will be challenged to rethink what an HIV positive or AIDS diagnosis could mean. For people given such a devastating diagnosis, this may be an important step toward remaining healthy or overcoming illness.
Many of the other pages of our web site are subject indexes linking you to numerous articles on a particular topic. The menu on the left will take you to all these subject indexes. The Controversy is a good place to start. We also suggest these Pages for a more in-depth introduction.(There are hundreds of documents on or linked to our web site.)
We will do our best to answer any questions or help you find information related to your interests if you contact us at the email address at the bottom of each page.

Should research scientists who have financial stakes in the products they are writing about be forced to disclose those ties? To which the average person might reasonably respond, of course they should. But the more pertinent question is why scientists with financial stakes in the outcome of scientific studies are allowed anywhere near those studies, much less reviewing them in elite journals.
New York Post: AIDS TOTS USED AS 'GUINEA PIGS'
February 29, 2004 -- The state Health Department has launched a probe into potentially dangerous drug research conducted on HIV-infected infants and children at a Manhattan foster-care agency, The Post has learned. Some 50 foster kids were used as "guinea pigs" in 13 experiments with high doses of AIDS medications at Manhattan's Incarnation Children's Center, sources said.

Only 6% of drug advertising material is supported by evidence
A new study of the advertising material and marketing brochures sent out by drug companies to GPs in Germany has shown that about 94% of the information in them has no basis in scientific evidence.

New study shows AIDS drugs equally effective as poverty and malnutrition.
Summary: Median time from seroconversion to AIDS and death in poor, starving rural Africans (without access to health care, purified water or electricity) living in the Masaka District of Uganda (where malaria, dysentery and measles are endemic) is no different than that observed in Europeans, North Americans, or Australians who have full access to proper nutrition, health-care, "life-prolonging" antiretrovirals, and prophylaxis against opportunistic infections (OI)!
Conclusion: These observations are consistent with the hypothesis that antiretrovirals are killing people just as fast as poverty and malnutrition.

U.K.'s Channel 4 News commissioned a 1998 World AIDS Day News Report from Meditel on HIV testing and the leading scientists who for the first time presented comprehensive data on profound inaccuracies underlying HIV testing and the identification of HIV at the World AIDS Conference in Geneva in July 1998. Channel 4 News supervised 4 drafts of the script and approved a press release and broadcast date. Interviews were taped, and the news feature was edited at Channel 4 News, including an interview with a young gay man who had contradictory test results at London teaching hospitals. On Thursday 26th November, the commissioned report was banned by Channel 4 News Editor Jim Gray.

Mbeki calls for AIDS debate
President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa calls for a conference of HIV and AIDS experts to look at ways of dealing with the HIV/AIDS epidemic there. He includes representatives with a broad range of views. He hopes that discussion and debate will address difficult questions raised by dissident thinkers, as they have been largely ignored. Does this sound like a sensible premise for a scientific conference?
